As per the latest update from Port of Auckland, VBS container access fees at Fergusson Terminal are set to increase. The most significant changes affect peak-time access (5:00am – 5:59pm), with a 77% rise to be rolled out in two stages.

•   50% of the increase by 1 January 2026
• The remaining 50% from 1 July 2026

To help reduce the impact of these rising fees, customers are encouraged to shift container movements to night operations (6:00pm-5:00am), weekends, or public holidays, where rates remain lower.

Lyttelton Port

Lyttelton has also confirmed an increase to VBS fees.

• Current fee: $40
• New fee (effective 1 October 2025): $65
